Good Weekend

Well, I think I had a pretty good weekend. Peaceful and restful.

I did get my loom put together. Not the best written instructions. But, I am used to construction instructions for dummies. What irked me off is they expected me to know what kind of screws were what. I don't know what the heck a pan head screw is and there were three different types of screws. But, I managed to figure it out. Now, to plan a project...

I did start a cardweaving project. It has been a long time since I've done any cardweaving. I had to brush up a bit but it all came back to me. I actually reused some parts of a previous project that I was not going to finish. The string is a lovely wool/silk mix. Very nice. So, it's all strung up across my living room and it's halfway done so hopefully I'll get that finished this week. I think I am going to use it as trim on my green wool tunic.

We also had our first Windmasters' Hill Cooks Guild meeting which I think went very well. Lots of sharing of ideas which I think is the whole point. And I think that we can mix those of us who are research junkies with those who just like to cook. I'm so happy all of us foodies are going to hang out on a normal basis. I think it will be a good thing. :)

Well, work this morning is surprisingly slow. Which frightens me, it probably means everything will come at once at 4:00pm. Oh well.

Chocolate Donuts!

I love Chocolate donuts from Dunkin Donuts! Soooo much better than Krispy Kreme. I'm sorry if I'm offending all of you KK fans but I really don't like slimed donuts. Ick.

And, I really love Weight Watchers because I can eat a donut if I want. I can have my donut and eat it too. :) It just may take a little extra planning.

I also find, that since I have started WW, I have enjoyed food more. Like the donut this morning, I enjoyed that delicious piece of fried chocolaty confection for 30 minutes. I really took the time and enjoyed it. Instead of chowing it down in a minute.

But, again, I try to take the time to smell the roses. Easily amused and all of that. My Mom thought I was crazy the other day when I got all excited at finding some gold colored paperclips in my desk. But, why not get excited? If all you usually have are silver, why not be amused by some sparkly gold ones?

I'll be going to A&S night over at Maddelena's this evening. She thinks she has some wool I can use for a wimple. Yippieee!!!! And it won't take me long to make that. Warmth at Ymir is a good thing.

(no subject)

Today was crazy busy at work. I didn't get near the amount of work I wanted done and sorting the mail took freaking forever. I hate Monday mail.

Other than that, I have determined to get back on track with my Weight Watchers stuff this week. When I was feeling bad last week I stopped paying attention and I ate all sorts of things I shouldn't have and more of it too. I missed my meeting too since I wasn't feeling well and the weather was sucky on Thursday. :(
But, new week, kicking my butt and getting back. I went and worked out this evening and I'm feeling much better. Must keep this up. :)

I think that I'm going to end up getting a Shetland fleece from I See Spots farm. The price isn't bad ($8/lb skirted) and it gives me more fiber to play with. Fiber Fun for Everyone! Of course, I haven't even started into the Alpaca fleece I got in October. But, it's a bit of an obsession. :)

Next step, put my heddle loom together and start a project. Probably will wait until after Ymir.

Well, I am going to go sit and spin. Play with my nice fluffy blue alpaca some more. :)
